  • Account Information: When you register on Rue as a student or instructor, we collect your name, email address, password, phone number, and role type (student, instructor, or studio).
  • Profile Information: Instructors can create profiles detailing their certifications, teaching styles, bios, about sections, years of experience, and schedule/locations.
  • Student Activity Data: If you are a student, we collect data about your booked classes, waitlist requests, check-ins, followed instructors, and followed studios.
  • Communications: If you contact us directly or message other users via our Platform, we collect the content of those communications and metadata.

Information Collected Automatically:

  • Device and Usage Info: We collect your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, application version, and user activity on our platform.
  • Location Data: With your permission, we collect precise latitude and longitude data to recommend local wellness studios, instructors, and classes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, and improve our Platform, including:

  • To facilitate class bookings, schedules, waitlists, and notifications.
  • To verify instructor profiles, certifications, and links with studios.
  • To customize your experience by highlighting local instructors and classes.
  • To enable direct messaging and community discussions between students and instructors.
  • To monitor usage and trends to enhance the UI and fix performance issues.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your information in the following situations:

  • With Other Users: If you are an instructor, your verified profile and class schedules are visible to all users. If you are a student, your profile visibility depends on your privacy settings (e.g., if you enable Private Profile).
  • With Studio Partners: When you book a class at a studio, we share your booking name with that studio to facilitate check-in and attendance.
  • Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors (like Supabase for database hosting, Stripe for payments, and Google Places API for studio data lookup) to perform services on our behalf.
  • For Legal Reasons: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

4. Your Choice and Privacy Controls

You have control over how your information is handled:

  • Private Profile: Students can turn on the "Private Profile" setting inside Settings → Privacy & Security. When enabled, only approved followers can see your posts and schedule.
  • Location Access: You can enable or disable location services in your device settings at any time.
  • Notification Preferences: You can adjust what push notifications and emails you receive inside Settings → Notifications.
